Vision: Chicagoland’s Most Walkable Town Mission: We serve the community at large, Winfield residents, visitors, retailers and forest and park districts, by delivering a comprehensive plan for a unique and sustainable Riverwalk project. The goal is to create an arterial system of pathways, surrounded by nature, intermixed with culture, education, recreation, relaxation, and community, created for the enjoyment of all and fueled via the heart of Winfield’s town center. We will promote, encourage and guide the development, use and long-term viability of the Riverwalk project. We will succeed by leveraging our - diversity - understanding of Winfield businesses & resident needs - love for the outdoors - village pride Opportunity Statement: We have an opportunity to enhance the environment and sense of community; for residents, visitors, and businesses, via a series of interconnected trails and pathways which link retail and consumers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature, art lovers and culture, and users and education, in partnership with a broader vision to make Winfield one of the most vibrant and desirable places to live.
